Carla joined Bath vets in July 2020 after graduating from the University of Bristol in June 2020 where she studied Veterinary Nursing and Bioveterinary Science. This was her first job as a qualified vet nurse but she had worked in first opinion and referral practices during her four years of study. She loves many aspects of her job, at the moment ophthalmology is a keen interest of hers and she often works alongside our ophthalmologist dealing with surgical and medical cases.
Outside of Bath Vets she works for the RCVS and sits on the veterinary nursing education council as a student representative. This council works to regulate colleges and universities that train veterinary nurses. She is very proud to be involved in something so important so soon after graduating. She is also very interested in research and would love to continue research in the same area as her university dissertation. At the beginning of 2020 she co-authored a knowledge summary which has won an award with RCVS veterinary evidence.
Outside of work she loves singing and have been involved in many choirs, along with solo performances.
