About Us

A well-established multi-disciplinary referral centre

Bath Veterinary Referrals is a well-established but growing multi-disciplinary referral centre for the South West. Working from our RCVS approved hospital on the outskirts of Bath, we are comprised of a number of referral clinicians with expertise in a variety of fields, backed up by an experienced nursing team, with 24-hour on site care by emergency vets.

Experienced Clinicians

All our clinicians have previously been involved in referral work prior to the formation of Bath Veterinary Referrals. The skill sets of our clinicians are complementary and overlapping, allowing more in-depth work up of cases, and continuity of care to vets, clients and patients.

Latest Equipment

Bath Veterinary Referrals is proud to be able to boast some of the latest diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including digital radiography, high resolution and colour flow Doppler ultrasound, permanent onsite MRI, video endoscopy, laparoscopy and arthroscopy, a wide range of surgical equipment including internal and external fracture fixation and TTA as well as multiparameter critical care, ECG and Holter monitors and point of care blood testing equipment including blood gas analysis and coagulation testing. We now have an onsite CT scanner to further improve our capabilities.

An Efficient Service

At Bath Veterinary Referrals, we look after clients and their pets in a way you would expect. We offer a caring, friendly and personalised service with good communication being a key aspect. Clients can usually be seen at short notice, with emergencies prioritised. A full report will be sent to the referring vet on the day of discharge; however, vets are welcome to ring up for progress reports at any time.

Need to see a Vet?

As a referral hospital, we only see clients and their pets when they have been referred to us from their local veterinary surgery. However, we also do local veterinary surgery at the hospital – which we refer to as 'first opinion' surgery. For information on our 'first opinion' surgery opening hours and phone number please visit Bath Vets.
